The G3 is the latest generation of the Grounded electric camper van. It is built on the GM BrightDrop (Chevrolet) platform with all-wheel drive, 270+ miles of combined range, a modular interior system, roof-mounted solar, Starlink internet, and a full smart home experience controlled from the Grounded+ mobile app. It is available on two BrightDrop models: the 24-foot Zevo 600 and the 20-foot Zevo 400.

The 2026 BrightDrop with all-wheel drive and the max battery has a combined range of 270+ miles (322 city / 242 highway). With the Grounded upfit, real-world range depends on driving speed and conditions. Speed is the biggest factor — above 65 mph, range decreases noticeably.

The BrightDrop vehicle battery is 173 kWh, which powers the drivetrain and all vehicle systems. This is separate from the Grounded house battery that powers the interior living space.

The house battery is a separate battery system that Grounded installs to power all interior appliances — lights, fridge, stove, water heater, Starlink, HVAC, and more. It uses 48V self-heating LiFePo batteries available in 5 kWh increments from 5 kWh up to 20 kWh. The self-heating feature is great for cold-weather camping. The house battery is independent from the 173 kWh vehicle drivetrain battery.

The house battery charges three ways: (1) Rooftop solar panels (up to 1,000W on the Zevo 600, 800W on the Zevo 400). (2) Shore power via an external hookup that supports up to 3.6 kW (30A) — works with a standard 15A or 20A household outlet or a 30A campground circuit. (3) From the BrightDrop vehicle battery at up to 1,400W when the vehicle is turned on, controlled through the Grounded+ app.

The BrightDrop has a CCS charge port and can be charged at any CCS-compatible charger, including DC fast chargers (Electrify America, ChargePoint, EVgo, etc.) at up to 160 miles per hour of charge. We include a CCS-to-NACS adapter so you can also charge at Tesla Supercharger stations. Level 1 and Level 2 home charging are also supported.

Solar cannot directly charge the vehicle battery. However, solar charges the house battery, and you can then plug the vehicle charger into one of the onboard outlets to transfer energy from the house battery to the vehicle battery. A full 20 kWh house battery provides roughly 31 miles of range. This is a last-resort option — the charge rate is slow and drains the house battery.

The G3 has two seats with seatbelts in the front (driver and passenger). With optional rear seating, the G3 can accommodate up to 3 additional rear passengers with seatbelts, for a maximum of 5 seatbelted occupants. The interior living space can also be configured with additional seating for dining and lounging.

The G3 offers three bed options depending on your tier: (1) Fixed Bed — a permanent queen bed, ready to use with no setup. (2) Bed/Booth Transformer — seating for six that converts into a California King bed. (3) Raisable Bed (Tier 3 Freedom) — a motorized full-size bed that lowers from the ceiling, with a dinette booth underneath that also converts to a California King, giving you two full sleeping areas.

The interior ceiling height is 6.48 feet on both models. The Zevo 600 has 13.3 feet of living space length and 6.4 feet of width at the widest point. The Zevo 400 has 8.2 feet of living space length and the same 6.4-foot width. The G3 has more ceiling height than the G2 thanks to the new swing-out rear door, which eliminates the dropped ceiling needed by the old roll-up garage door.

The Zevo 600 is 24.17 feet long, 10 feet tall, and 8.85 feet wide including mirrors (7.51 feet without mirrors), with 7.51 inches of ground clearance. The Zevo 400 is 19.92 feet long with the same height, width, and ground clearance.

The G3 uses 2 inches of foam insulation throughout the vehicle structure, including the new swing-out rear door, for excellent thermal performance. For climate control, you can choose between a roof-mounted 48V DC air conditioner (cooling only), a 48V DC heat pump (heating and cooling), and/or electric heaters. The G3 is cold-weather rated down to 0°F with self-heating house batteries and improved insulation.

The G3 cabinets use aluminum framing with faces and sides made from 100% recycled plastic, available in a variety of colors and patterns. This is far more durable and scratch-resistant than wood, and the homogenous material means no veneer to peel off over time. The interior wall panels are made from upcycled rice hulls — tree-free, recyclable, water-resistant, rot-proof, and made in the USA in a zero-waste plant.

Yes. The Zevo 600 has up to 1,000W of rooftop solar and the Zevo 400 has up to 800W. In ideal conditions, 1,000W of solar can generate roughly 5 kWh per day, which is enough to power interior appliances and keep the house battery topped up during sunny days.

Yes. Every G3 comes with a Starlink satellite dish mounted on the roof, providing high-speed internet from virtually anywhere with a clear view of the sky — including remote areas and National Parks. The G3 Freedom tier includes the High Performance Starlink dish with faster speeds (up to 220 Mbps down). The vehicle also has an 4G-LTE modem for the Grounded+ app to stay connected even when Starlink is turned off.

The BrightDrop platform includes over 20 standard safety features: enhanced automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, forward collision alert, front and rear park assist, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, IntelliBeam auto high beams, HD surround vision (360-degree camera), blind zone steering assist, adaptive cruise control, speed limit assist, traffic sign recognition, safety alert seat, and reverse automatic braking. The cab also includes 5 airbags, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

The G3 features a swing-out rear door and a partition door between the cab and living space, both with robust anti-theft locking mechanisms. The BrightDrop also has automatic task lighting that illuminates the rear when it detects motion with the key fob nearby.

The powerful all-wheel-drive system handles moderate off-road conditions well — wet grass, gravel roads, and steep tracks. It is not designed for extreme off-roading or rock crawling, but it is very capable for reaching remote campsites and trailheads.

The BrightDrop is not rated for towing by GM, so there is no hitch receiver. However, Grounded offers exterior accessories for carrying bikes, kayaks, surfboards, and other gear on the rear door and exterior of the vehicle.

Available appliances include a double induction stove, fridge/freezer, tank water heater, microwave (optional), LED strip and puck lighting, a water pump, and a raisable bed motor. All appliances are controlled and monitored through the Grounded+ mobile app, including real-time power usage for each individual circuit.

Water tanks are available and can be customized to your needs. The wet room module includes plumbing for fresh and greywater systems with capacity options that depend on your configuration.

Despite being a large van, the G3 drives remarkably well — one customer compared it more to a mid-size SUV than a van. The all-wheel-drive system provides confident acceleration and handling, and the extensive camera and sensor suite (including a 360-degree top-down view) makes parking in tight spaces straightforward.

Yes, all Grounded RVs are RVIA certified (RV Industry Association). This certification confirms the vehicle meets or exceeds industry and federal safety standards for electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and construction. RVIA certification is often required for entry into campgrounds and helps with vehicle financing and insurance.

Grounded builds on multiple electric and hybrid platforms: (1) GM BrightDrop (Chevrolet) — used for the G3 camper van and commercial builds, with 270+ miles of range, all-wheel drive, and a walk-in cargo area. (2) Ford E-Transit — used for commercial applications like mobile medicine and food trucks (not the camper van), with 143+ miles of range. (3) Harbinger — used for the C1, a heavy-duty commercial platform with up to 500 miles of range in hybrid configuration and over 10,000 lbs of payload capacity. Grounded also offers a Power Upgrade option to add house power and smart control to virtually any existing chassis.

The C1 is Grounded's newest and most powerful commercial vehicle, built on Harbinger's commercial-grade electric truck platform. It is designed for government, healthcare, and enterprise fleets that need maximum payload and extended range. The C1 is available as an all-electric (~200 miles of range) or as a hybrid with a gasoline range extender that brings total range to 500 miles. It has a 26,000 lb gross vehicle weight rating with over 10,000 lbs of payload capacity, making it suitable for heavy equipment like mammography machines or command center infrastructure.

The C1 launched with two primary configurations: (1) Mobile Command Center — secure communications, reliable power, and the mobility to coordinate responses during severe weather, large events, or multi-agency emergencies. (2) Mobile Healthcare — enables municipalities and nonprofits to deliver mammograms, vaccinations, screenings, and other preventative services directly to communities. The C1 can also support shelter coordination, supply distribution, and emergency relief. Like the G3, it comes with its own house power system charged by solar, shore power, and the vehicle battery.

Harbinger is the world's first Class 3-6 hybrid electric vehicle platform. It uses an electric motor producing 440 hp and 1,140 lb-ft of torque. The all-electric variant has approximately 200 miles of range with a 140 kWh battery, while the plug-in hybrid variant adds a gasoline range extender for a total of 500 miles. The hybrid option provides resiliency for mission-critical operations where downtime is not an option.

No. Grounded previously built the G1 (the world's first electric camper van) on the Ford E-Transit, but the camper van product is now exclusively built on the GM BrightDrop platform, which offers significantly more range. Grounded still builds on the Ford E-Transit for commercial applications like mobile medical vans and food trucks.

Yes. Grounded offers a Power Upgrade option that adds idle-free house power and Grounded+ smart control to virtually any chassis. This includes a modular battery system up to 60 kWh, rooftop solar options up to 1.5 kW, Starlink and 5G/LTE connectivity, and full remote control and diagnostics through the Grounded+ fleet dashboard — all with over-the-air updates and always-on support. This is ideal for fleets that want Grounded's technology without switching vehicle platforms.
